NIH Awards Second Year of Funding for DREF Research Matters Initiative
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently awarded a second year of funding to DREF as a national community partner with the NIH All of Us Research Program. As of July 1, 2018, DREF embarked on its second year of promoting its initiative: "Research Matters: Creating Possibilities to Achieve Health and Wellness for All of Us."
DREF Awards STJ Summer Internship and Scholarships
The 2018 Stephanie Tubbs Jones Summer Internship has been awarded to Saleshia Ellis, a senior student majoring in Urban & Regional Planning at Florida State University. Scholarships were also awarded to students for the Eula Dean Roby and Mentoring Keys for 2018-2019.
DREF Announces the 2018-2019 Community Empowerment Grant Awards
Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF), in collaboration with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will award 16 Community Empowerment grants for programs in any of the following areas: Civic Engagement, Education, Financial Literacy, Health and Wellness, and International Awareness and Involvement.

On May 6, the National Institutes of Health will open national enrollment for the All of Us Research Program - a momentous effort to advance individualized prevention, treatment and care for people of all backgrounds-in collaboration with the Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) and other partners.
DREF Sister Scholars Examine Impact of Gun Violence on Black Women and Girls
The Sister Scholars Advisory Council has conducted a new research project examining the impact of gun violence on Black women and girls. Throughout 2018, the findings will be shared with DREF stakeholders for action and implementation to improve the adverse impact of gun violence on Black women and girls.
DTEC-TAG Announces Participating Sites and Partners
The Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign (DTEC) Teachers Advocating to Lead Great Change (TAG) Program recently announced participant sites and its collaborating partners. TAG participants reside in the following selected states/regions: DC-MD-VA, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas; 35 participants and eight supporters have signed on with the education advocacy initiative. The participants will receive training via webinars and in-person institutes throughout 2018 and will continue through September 2019
DTEC -TAG Announces Partners and Participants
The DTEC-TAG (Teacher Advocating to lead Great change) program announced their partnership with the Education Trust, Leadership Conference and Black Educators Rock, Inc. We are ecstatic to collaborate with these organizations in the coming years as we help sculpt our TAG Participants and their Education Advocacy projects in their respective districts. The work and dedication from these willing organizations are exactly what the DTEC-TAG Team needs to enhance the effectiveness of our program.

DREF Receives Award from NIH "All of Us" Research Program
The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) has recently received a three-year award from the National Institutes of Health’s "All of Us" Research Program to conduct a community awareness campaign that informs African Americans about the importance of understanding and participating in biomedical research.

The Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign (DTEC) recently received a $500,000 grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to fund the Teachers Advocating to lead Great change (T.A.G.) Program. DTEC will present T.A.G. in partnership with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
DREF Presents Golden Anniversary Concert in Las Vegas
The 50th milestone year of DREF was celebrated at a Golden Anniversary Concert featuring Kim Jordan and Company as they presented a soul-stirring, multi-media tribute to the late music icon and spoken word genius Gil Scott-Heron. The concert was held during the 52nd National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in Las Vegas.
Congratulations to the DREF Golden Anniversary Scholarship Awardees
In honor of its 50th Anniversary occurring this year in 2017, the Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) conducted a special scholarship awards program. Fifty students were selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year. More than 200 applicants were received, resulting in an extremely competitive selection process. Listed below are the 50 students who have been selected to receive the DREF Golden Anniversary scholarship.
