Ms. Ellis is a permanent resident of Tallahassee, FL.  She arrived in the nation’s capital on May 27 for a week of orientation and leadership development session, which is followed by the eight-week internship.

The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF), under the auspices of its Center for Research on African American Women (The Center), established the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Social Justice Institute. Currently the STJ Institute offers an annual summer internship for young women to work in the U.S. Congress. The STJ Internship is presented in collaboration with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

The Eula Dean Roby Scholarship for education majors will be awarded to Mikayla Golden of Warner Robbins, GA. Ms. Golden, a former Delta GEM of the Warner Robins Alumnae Chapter, will enroll this coming fall at Columbus State University as an education major.  She aspires to be a middle school science teacher.

The Mentoring Keys Scholarship for business majors will be awarded for the second year to the inaugural recipients, as outlined by the scholarship guidelines.  Each year the student receives $2,500 (junior year and senior year).  The Mentoring Keys awardees are Arthur Wright, a finance major at Bethune-Cookman College and Ato Watson, a computer information systems major at Florida Memorial University.
