DREF Announces the 2018-2019 Community Empowerment Grant Awards

Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF), in collaboration with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will award 16 Community Empowerment grants for programs in any of the following areas: Civic Engagement, Education, Financial Literacy, Health and Wellness, and International Awareness and Involvement.

All chapters submitting applications this year have been selected to receive a grant. The following chapters will be awarded grants for the incoming fiscal year:

Boston (MA) Alumnae
Champaign-Urbana Alumnae
Fairfax County (VA) Alumnae    
Iota City-Wide Chapter (Boston, MA)    
LaMarque (TX) Alumnae  
Quaker City (PA) Alumnae    
Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae
Tallahassee (FL) Alumnae
Tempe (AZ) Alumnae
Tri-County (MD) Alumnae
Tulsa (OK) Alumnae
Virginia Beach (VA) Alumnae
Warner Robins Alumnae
Washington (DC) Alumnae

The reviewers for the 2018-19 Community Empowerment included Nikisha Horn, DREF Board member; Rev. Robin Huger of Baltimore County Alumnae; and Deborah Peaks Coleman, DREF Program Director.  Sincere appreciation is extended to Ms. Horn and Rev. Huger for reviewing the grant applications.
