DREF’s Center for Research on African American Presented the Annual Stephanie Tubbs Jones Social Justice Institute Forum

The Stephanie Tubbs Jones Social Justice Institute Forum was held at the 28th Annual Delta Days in the Nation’s Capital social action-advocacy conference sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on March 4, 2017 at the Washingt Hilton Hotel, Washington, DC. The topic : The Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls.

The Congressional Black Caucus on Black Women and Girls (CBWG) was formed in March 2016 by Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), and Yvette D. Clarke (d-NY) at the behest of  #SheWoke, a collective started by seven advocates and thought leaders across the country.

Panelists included:  Bonnie Watson Coleman, Democrat, 12 Congressional District of NJ ; Aryn Frazier, 4th year student at UVA and 2017 Rhodes Scholar; a representative from #SheWoke; a representative from the Sister Scholars Advisory Council in DREF's Center for Research on African American Women; and Carolyn E. Lewis, DREF President.
