Attention Delta Chapters - Annual Community Empowerment Grantmaking Application Deadline is extended to April 23rd.

Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF), in collaboration with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will award Community Empowerment grants to Delta Chapters for programs in any of the following areas: Gun Violence Prevention, Voter Registration and Education, or the 2020 U.S. Census.

2020-2021 Grant Application Overview 


Rules and Instructions:

 

  • The program grant must be conducted by a Delta chapter or a program sponsored in partnership with a community organization with similar missions and goals as those of DREF and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The community organization partner must have a 501 (c) (3) non-profit status.
  • Grant Awards will range from $500 to $1,500 based on score received
  • Grant Award period is for Fiscal Year 2020-21 (July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021)
  • Program grant awards are subject to availability and will be based on the rating score received.
  • Chapters are permitted to submit only one grant application.
  • Proposals must address issues affecting African American Women and their families related to the Community Empowerment focus on Gun Violence Prevention, Voter Registration and Education, or the 2020 U.S. Census.
  • Program must clearly delineate how the target population will be empowered to move beyond their current situation.
