Welcome, Brittany Grimes Zaehringer, Esq.,MSSA 

Dear Friends:

On behalf of The Delta Foundation’s Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Brittany Grimes Zaehringer, Esq., MSSA as our new Director of Operations.The national search process generated responses from a talented group of accomplished and qualified candidates. Ms. Zaehringer emerged as the Board’s unanimous choice. We willwelcome Ms. Zaehringer to her new position on January 5, 2012 as we begin a new year with a renewed sense of vision and purpose to improve the lives of women and children in the communities we serve.

Brittany Grimes Zaehringer joins The Delta Foundation after four years of leadership as Chief Operating Officer for the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio-Macedonia, Ohio. While there, she completed the merger of five separate Girl Scout councils into one high capacity council with $25 million in assets and a $10 million operating budget. Earlier in her impressive career, Brittany served as Director of Advocacy, Quality Assurance and Staff Development for the Philadelphia, PA-based Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools; held several increasingly responsible positions for the County of Summit, Ohio-Akron, Ohio, including service as the Assistant Deputy Director of Contract Administration, Assistant Human Resources Administrator, Human Resources Administrator, and EEO Compliance Officer.

She has served as Community Parent Support Coordinator for Community Coordinated Care for Children in Orlando, Fl, and held the position of Adjunct Professor, Business, Legal and Office Studies Department at Seminole Community College located in Sanford/Oviedo, FL.

Brittany’s skills were also utilized as the Contract Compliance/EEO offer for Akron (OH) Summit Community Action where she defined and expanded the role of her position as directed by the regional organization’s CEO. Her hard-earned legal training landed Brittany the position as Associate Attorney at the Akron, OH law firm of Buckingham, Doolittle and Burroughs, LLP.

Ms. Zaehringer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) and earned her Juris Doctorate and Master of Science in Social Administration in a dual degree program, from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH). She is a member of the Akron and Ohio Bar Associations.

In addition to her wide-ranging career experiences and successful career history, she has been recognized on numerous occasions for her community involvement and has given freely of time to organizations and efforts that benefit women and children. I am also pleased to share that Brittany is a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated; serves as a Legal Advisor and Board Member of The Minerva Fund of Akron; is a member of Leadership Akron, and Board Member of the Women’s Endowment Fund.

The Board of Directors is confident that we have acquired the leadership, the passion, and the strategist to propel the Foundation to even greater heights. The Delta Foundation extends a warm welcome to our new Director of Operations, Brittany Grimes Zaehringer.
