Board of Directors' Welcome
Welcome message from the Delta Research And Educational Foundation Board of Directors.
Thank you for visiting our
website. It was great seeing many
of our supporters this past summer at the Regional Conferences of Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority. During the
conferences, we had an opportunity to present an update on The Delta Foundation,
sharing news information about fund raising activities, our Charitable Giving
Service, and our overall operation.
We were very excited to distribute our latest annual report to every Delta registered for the Regional Conferences. Yes, that’s big a deal for us! In past years, our distribution of the annual report was limited to the Voting Delegates and the national leadership. It is our thinking that a well-informed constituency creates a more effective one! We want you to know what we are doing—our progress, our ups and downs, and how you can play an integral part in assisting The Delta Foundation in making great things happen.
Thank you to everyone who visited our booth in the Exhibit Trade Show. We appreciate your interest in our work and we are extremely grateful for your financial support. We hope that you are enjoying reading our scholarly journal that you received as an appreciation gift for your contribution. We are pleased with the enthusiastic reception that PHILLIS: The Journal for Research on African American Women has received. Keep reading and let us know what you think.
As a non-profit organization, we depend greatly on volunteer support. On behalf of The Delta Foundation’s Board of Directors and Staff, I extend a tremendous expression of gratitude to all Delta members who volunteered at our informational booth during the conferences and to chapter leaders who presented at our workshop (“Dollars and Sense: Using the Charitable Giving Service of The Delta Foundation”). We could not have done it without your womanpower!
Let’s make this a banner year, as we work to “create possibilities and improve lives” of African American women and their families.
In service to others,
Alison J. Harmon, Ed.D.
President
